SHABBY ROSE

So far this week I have managed to complete an 8 inch Toy-Box Treasure called Shabby Rose, who has quickly found a very loving home.  She is made from a very pretty pink German mohair and a pale pink suedette for her paw pads.  I do enjoy making these little bears, the aging process is strangely very theraputic LOL!! 

I have also finished today a new style of bear to be added to my Toy-Box Treasure range called Dottie, who is based on a 1950's/60's teddy bear.

DOTTIE

Dottie is 13 inches tall and has the look of a bear who has been lovingly played with and now left to sit quietly in the corner of an old toy-box.  

This little bear is made from a pale blonde, matted effect German mohair and wears a hand made cotton playsuit, which has been aged and stained for a "well loved, played" look.

Dottie has sadly one or two nose threads missing, but fortunately she still has her sweet smile.  

She is hopeful to find a new loving home very soon as she no longer wants to sit quietly in the toy-box but so wants to be able to play again.

Well, I better get back to stitching some ears onto some bears and a Kat as I think they are getting fed up waiting for me :-)

I have also finished making a black Bunniko with a mohican as a special commission for a surprise birthday present, so better not show the pictures of this at the moment, do not want to spoil the surprise.

Well its back to the grindstone for me, better get started on an order I have for a shop, I hope to squeeze in another little 8 inch Toy-Box Treasure inbetween as I am itching to do this one.

Oh What a Beautiful Morning!!

Well the sun is shining, the sky is blue, just a little cool nip in the air what a lovely start to the weekend.

At present I am in the middle of making a little 8 inch Toy-Box Treasure who hopefully will be finished today, I do so enjoy making these smaller traditional bears, but find I do not get much time to make one as I hand stitch them.  I have had a busy week preparing Urchins for a new shop.  I have been delighted with the response to the the larger Urchin who is 10 inches tall, they are like the elder brother or sister to the smaller 8 inch ones :-)

Well I better get back to my little bear, as I have plans for another when I have finished this one, my fingers are itching to get back to sewing.  Hopefully I will not leave it so long inbetween posts.

MIRABEL

I thought you might like to see the bear I have created over the weekend called Mirabel, she is one of my new Toy-Box Treasures.  She has been developed from a bear I made about 3 years ago called Emelia Jane.  It has been so nice to re visit a pattern and add new techniques I have learnt since the last time I used this pattern.  Mirabel is 16 inches tall and a pretty pastel blue girl bear with life like eyes.  I am so pleased with the way she has turned out I am sure I will not leave it so long to use this pattern again :-)

Today I have been making a new Grog and finishing off a new wacky bear and having a great time with some brightly coloured felt I have hand dyed to give a batik effect and some wonderful rainbow effect mohair, its like Christmas!!


Darren has also finished a new Furgotten Bear today, I really do feel sorry for his bears, the ageing treatment is enough to bring tears to your eyesLOL! but the results he achieves look so genuine.  If you would like to see his bear she has just been added to my website on his Furgotten page.  He is at present up dating his own blog so in the next hour or so you will see what he has been upto while he has his feet up resting his broken toes.  Have you noticed that when someone has a bad foot no matter how hard you try to avoid knocking it etc. it seems to be always in your pathway, even our little dogs know to walk on the otherside of the room LOL!

LOLLYPOP

Its only a week today until the Kensington teddy bear show, and I hope the weather improves for our journey as we have woken up to over 4 inches of snow... where did that come from ? I was getting used to seeing the green grass again.

I will be taking with me a couple of new Open Edition bears to be released at the show. This week I have released a little girl Open Edition bear called Lollypop who is 16 inches tall and has been made from the most wonderful, super soft, pink with white frosted tip fur. Fingers crossed I am hoping to take with me to the show a small range of my Toy-Box Treasures and I have pestered Darren to do a couple of his Furgotten Bears too, hopefully we will have them finished in time :-)
