A TOUCH OF WACKY!

Its been a very busy time at Jac-Q-Lyn Bears creating lots of new Urchins, Toy-Box Treasures and Wacky bears.

The wacky bears have a special place in my heart as they were the first bears I made when I started bear making over 12 years ago, as they ticked all the right boxes for me.  I love to work with colour and I like a bear with a defined shape and with an expression on its face, so the wacky road was for me.

It is very easy to pick up a piece of mohair that is long and fluffy and pretty in colour and use it to make a bear, but for me personally its not the mohair that you are buying its the bear underneath the fur. The design is the important part to me and then the materials are the finishing touches.  I hope that these things show when you see one of my wacky bears.

These are the latest wacky bears created that are now available from One More Bear, please click on the link for further details Jac-Q-Lyn Bears at One More Bear

I'm Back!!

After a week of computer problems I am finally back on-line.  I did wonder at times during the week if my old friendship with "pen and paper" would be renewed LOL!!

Its not long now until the Urchin bear signing at One More Bear at Trentham Gardens, Stoke on Trent on Saturday.  We have lots of lovely new Urchins small and large to show.

My husband Darren is very busy creating his new range of Furgotten Urchins and has just finished this little 10 inch girl called Amelia.  Amelia is made from a short pile, pale peppermint German mohair who is made to look like an orphan bear who has been loved and played with in the past.

Amelia has found a new home in America.

Well better put my nose back to the grindstone lots of catching up to do after my week with no computer.

ITS BEEN A LONG TIME

Wow!! its June, what happened to May?

I have been busy making Urchins, but I have found a little time to make a new design of Urchin a little 8 inch mouse and a 15 inch Urchin with long eyelashes. and a cheeky smiling range called Smilers, yes you have guessed right they have cheeky smiles.

I am in the middle of preparing a couple of bears to enter into competitions and have a new 14 inch  Toy-Box Treasure to release in the next couple of days called Tobias Crumb.

While we have been busy in the Urchin workshop there has been lots of fun on the I Love Urchins Group, with plenty of funny pictures from collectors across the world. Many seem to have their own transport and credit cards LOL!!  if you would like to take a peep at what is happening in the Urchin world click on the link I Love Urchins

ODD JOB IS BORN

Over a period of time I seem to always end up with a bag full of extra Urchin body parts as sometimes I get a bit carried away and mark and cut out too many pieces.  So the other day I decided to put some of the pieces together to create an extra special little Urchin called Odd Job, who is totally unique, but the only problem is he is exceptionally naughty and already in his short life he has been upto all sorts of mischief.

We keep our Urchin naughtiness in a special tin, and all the Urchins that we create always have a pinch or two of naughtiness from the naughtiness tin, but I think we have put a little too much into Odd Job LOL!!

Sad looking Odd Job has one glass eye and an odd button eye to see the world through and a threadbare nose.  However Odd Job is now asking if we will make him a girlfriend, but we have told him he has to wait until the bag of body parts is full again so we can create him his own Lucky Dip girlfriend LOL!! so he will have to be lonely for a little while longer.

"Hello I am Odd Job"

This is Odd Job trying his hardest to look innocent but don't be fooled!

If anyone is interested in owning their own special little Odd Job, just email me with your request and I will let you know as soon as one is born.

A SELL OUT

What an amazing day we had at the the Hugglets Bear Fair last Sunday.  We took 43 Urchins, from 8 inch ones to 15 inch ones and sold out, packing up at the end of the day was so easy and so fast LOL!!

We had a lovely day catching up with old friends and meeting new ones too.   Fun was had amongst all the Urchin collectors, chatting and taking photographs of their new adoptions.  Some have already posted their pictures onto the "I Love Urchins" group on Facebook.

At the show we introduced our new range of Hedgehogs, Dogs and Golly Urchins which were very well received.
